The Cure Perform Live On TV For The First Time – “A Forest” (Paris 1979)

On December 8th, 1979, English gothic rock band The Cure performed their first live television special at the Théâtre de l’Empire in Paris. That night, the band played “At Night”, which would later be known as “A Forest”, as well as “Killing An Arab” and “Three Imaginary Boys”.

Following the punk rock revolution in the United Kingdom, The Cure, out of whom only Robert Smith has been a permanent fixture over the years, became a mainstay in the New Wave and post-punk movements, and have achieved commercial success with such singles as “Boys Don’t Cry”, “Friday I’m In Love” and “Close To Me”.
