John Lennon Attempts To Demonstrate How Easy It Is To Mimic Bob Dylan’s Style… By Reading The Newspaper

At the height of their respective careers, music powerhouses and peers Bob Dylan and John Lennon were known to mock each other’s style, albeit in playful, humorous fashion: Dylan has songs and lyrics which are thought to be throwing shade at The Beatles; Lennon would release impromptu recordings of his best Bob Dylan impression.

In the following recording, Lennon proceeds to read a national newspaper while seemingly playing a two-chord progression and imitating Dylan’s signature style of narrative songwriting.

Bob Dylan would later feature in The Traveling Wilburys with Beatles guitarist George Harrison.
