Brazilian graphic designer and pop artist Butcher Billy certainly has his own signature style, that of concept art infused with street art and vintage comic book influences. Heavily loaded with famous figures and pop culture references to cinema, music, art, literature, etc., his works are known to seamlessly blur the lines between reality and fiction. (He has a comic book series entitled “Tales From The Smith” which features gothic rock icon Robert Smith, alongside the titles of prominent songs by The Cure, on the cover of each issue.)
Delving into the horror genre while maintaining the style to which he has become accustomed, Butcher Billy has taken classic love and heartbreak songs from the ’70s and ’80s and reimagined them as Stephen King book covers. Bands include The Smiths, Joy Division, and Tears For Fears. The results are staggering.
