“The Cage Cage”: How Two Developers Created A Virtual Reality Simulation Of What It’s Like To Be Trapped In A Cage And Forced To Watch Nicolas Cage Films

Video game designers — and self-confessed Nicolas Cage fans — Mike Lacher and Chris Baker have created a Nicolas Cage experience like no other: a browser-friendly virtual reality simulation which subjects the user, in torturous, haunting fashion, to a cacophony of the actor’s films played simultaneously and perpetually while being trapped in a cage. The result is a trippy and discordant onslaught of the actor’s face and voice from all four sides.

From The Rock to The Wicker Man, Bad Lieutenant to Face/Off, Mike Lacher said that the idea was inspired by his and Baker’s love of watching Nicolas Cage “losing his mind on-screen”.
