David Bowie Performs “Heroes” Live On Dutch TV In 1977 (For One Of The First Times Ever)

In September 1977, English singer-songwriter David Bowie embarked upon a short promotional tour for his twelfth studio album, Heroes. It would be on this tour that Bowie introduced the world to the album’s title track, a song which would become one of his most acclaimed and most celebrated and, ultimately, would define the singer’s illustrious career. Comprising a handful of dates across Europe, the tour saw Bowie sing live on only a few occasions, one of which was his performance in October of the same year on Dutch pop music TV show TopPop. The following clip is said performance.

The second installment of David Bowie’s “Berlin Trilogy”, but the only one entirely recorded in Berlin, Heroes was voted the NME Album of the Year upon release.

Janis Joplin Toronto JANIS JOPLIN – “CRY BABY” (LIVE IN TORONTO 1970)

John Lennon Mother JOHN LENNON – “MOTHER” (LIVE IN MADISON SQUARE GARDEN 1972)
