The Sketch Show – A Female Reporter Struggles To Interview A Winning Irish Jockey

In the following clip, which is taken from British television programme The Sketch Show, a patient, hardworking reporter (Ronni Ancona) tries to conduct an interview with a fast-speaking, incomprehensible Irish jockey (Lee Mack) who is “excited” following his win. Needless to say, she can’t make out one word that he is uttering. In her own words: “Not just the odd word I’m missing. I’m really not getting anything at all.” Yet she continues with the interview.

The Sketch Show, which began at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1999, aired between 2001 and 2004 on ITV, with a spinoff of the same name subsequently produced in the US.
