Discover Alexa Meade And Her Scintillating “Living Paintings”

In the following video, Alexa Meade, an installation artist from Washington, D.C., introduces her “living art”, for which she is best known. Inverting the concept of trompe l’oeil, which uses realistic imagery to create the illusion that objects are existing in three dimensions, Meade paints directly on inanimate objects and human bodies to give the impression of a two-dimensional painting.

Meade’s work has now been exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Portrait Gallery (Washington, D.C.) and the Saatchi Gallery (London), and she continues to garner much acclaim and recognition worldwide.
