At the tender age of 17, Kate Fenner, whose mental health had been deteriorating for some time, was diagnosed with schizophrenia, which is often described as a form of psychosis, the symptoms of which include changes in behaviour, muddled thoughts, delusions, and hallucinations. It was at this point that she began to draw her hallucinations. “Drawing helps me deal with it,” she voices.
With candour aplenty, she describes her visions as follows: “In my hallucinations I hear voices, sound effects, random noises, and I often see bugs, faces, and disembodied eyes.”
